Video Tips

  1. Watch Your Time
Keep your review less than 7 minutes long. Any longer and you will lose the attention of your audience. Feel free to make them as short as you like.
  2. Be Yourself
People can tell when you are faking it, especially on camera. Your reviews will be more enjoyable to watch if you are being yourself.
  3. Plan Your Review
Writing out a list of things to include will help you not forget anything and reduce the chance of you stumbling through a review.
  4. Keep It Useful
Remember the purpose of the review; to either spark debate or inform. Don’t use your reviews as a platform or ego stroking exercise.
  5. Have Fun!
Reviewing and discussing books should be fun. Don’t take yourself or the exercise TOO seriously.
  6. Setting
Make sure there’s plenty of lighting and a clutter and distraction free background to ensure viewers stay focussed on what’s important. You!
  7. Don’t Over Edit
Everyone makes mistakes and it’s easy to retake and retake videos to get them ‘perfect’. Instead, why not spend your time just reviewing another book.
